I bought this set in January 2009. The picture quality is great, and it is set a good television in general. But after about 10 months, the TV started to have the power cycle problem. When we tried to turn the TV on or off, there will always be repeated on and off. When this happens, we have to disconnect the power supply and wait for some time, back before we can plug it and use again the TV. I contacted Samsung service and got the latest firmware. You know what? My TV In late2008 and already has the latest firmware. The firmware of Samsung Service has given me is identical to what my TV. So it's not the firmware problem. Here I made a big mistake: I did not follow through, and ask for a repair service from Samsung, as it still under warranty. I thought the question was still manageable, it was not worth the time to get the service. Big mistake. Now 3 months later, got the power problem worse, and we can no long turn on the TV.
TheTV looks great when it works. But there are basic quality / design problems with the power supply. A big TV without power is useless, and you will be better with a smaller TV that is more reliable.
I'll wait and see how the service repair / develop and comment more later.
